Nittans EVC-P’s special design allows the smoke to pass through the chamber slots while the light cannot enter from the outside. It uses the light scatter method which means that a LED pulses every 8 seconds. After reaching the alarm level for the first time, the interval between this and the next pulse is automatically reduced to 4 seconds. An alarm is only given when two pulses were successful.

Furthermore Nittan’s design of the EVC-P smoke detector is highly resistant against false alarms caused by air velocities, contamination or RF interference.
